Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a new concept created to bring much more efficiency to construction projects. Different from the usual 2D design, BIM technology modeling works with 3D resources, making it possible to virtually construct a model which is true to the final product. The ideal project carried out in BIM aggregates all parts involved in the planning of a construction, providing in-depth information about every detail of construction to be used by all those involved, from engineers and architects to the planners and those responsible for the purchase of materials.
Assisted by BIM, several professionals are able to work on the same project at the same time, integrated by the same platform, inputting data aligned with their own specialty and keeping record of updates in real-time. It is not only about making access to data easy, such as dimensions of walls or placement of hydraulic or gas pipes, but also to provide information related to the types and quantities of inputs and labor employed, since virtual construction is done according to the parameters and characteristics of the materials that will be used in the site.
